Who would've thought shampoo could me so much fun? Scientists of the University of Twente made a video of leaping shampoo. This is actually a fluid effect called Kaye effect. Some fluids in motion can manifest this interesting effect. I don't know about the practical applications of it, but it's very beautiful! Enjoy!
These guys managed to capture a 2.2 million volt lightning strike using just a thick piece of Plexiglass. As the lightning strike travels through it, it melts the plastic, leaving an imprint of the strike, called a Lichtenberg figure. Pretty cool, isn't it?
Well you've probably heard that the TGV broke the train speed record on rail roads. It still isn't the fastest train, because MagLev gets that price, but then again, it doesn't run on rails. Enjoy this cool video of the TGV reaching 574.8 kph (357.2 mph)!
Here's a tape with some of the best homemade roller coasters out of K'nex pieces. Some of them are unbelievable high, needing storage in a school's gym. Their very cool, and I think that a lot of work went into those projects!
This is a very cute video. So if you by chance are a mass murderer and hate this stuff, please go away now! All of the rest will be thrilled to see how animals can be smart and play with each other. For example this little duckling feeds the carps in this Japanese garden, just for the fun of it. That's pretty cool
Fero-magnetic fluid is the stuff that Ferrari makes its car suspensions from. It's a fluid containing iron particles. When an electromagnetic force is applied to it, it tends to shape itself to the wave lines of the electromagnetic field. You can try something similar at home with some iron shavings on a plate, and a magnet underneath the plate. It's used in car suspensions because it can modify the stiffness of the ride almost instantly.
Her's another use for fero-magnetic fluid, this time with beauty in mind, and less practical. Enjoy it!
Here's a remote controlled helicopter equipped with nothing else than a rifle with live ammo. Guess, that's not for sale, huh? It would've been a great toy to have in Los Angeles ;)
Here's an old Top Gear video where a F1 car driven by Johnny Herbert races a rally car driven by the world champion driver Colin McRae. And to put everything into perspective, there's an (old) Ford Cougar. Of course, it isn't a fair race, so the street car gets a huge lead. Guess who'll win?
After seeing how a samurai sword slashes an egg, here's a follow up, showing in slow motion what happens when a samurai sword slices a bottle full with something that resembles tea. Hope you'll enjoy this one, too !
